The Recipe for IT Implementation Success

Culture Change Management

The third aspect of successful information systems implementation is the necessary culture change needed in the organisation to effectively realise the bottom line business benefit on a continual basis. As quoted previously, people’s acceptance of a new technology does not mean that they are using it effectively or achieving adequate benefits for the organization (Orlikowski, 2000). Therefore effective organizations do not consider IT projects simply as just another unimportant initiative – they actively shape the organisational culture and processes to ensure the maximisation of their return on their investment.
